How can I buy tickets? How much are they?

Do you sell rush tickets? Are there any discounts available?
Portland Stage does not offer Rush Tickets.
We do offer a number of Discount Programs.
Can I go inside and take a look at the seating before purchasing tickets?
Due to rehearsal, technical & performance schedules, the theater is not available for walk-in viewing.
Will my tickets be mailed to me? How will I receive my tickets?
All ticket orders placed 10 days or fewer before the performance date are held at the “Will Call” window.
For orders placed more than 10 days prior to the performance date:
•Phone orders – will be mailed to you, unless you need to present a coupon or ID as part of your order.
•Internet orders – will be mailed, unless you select the delivery method as “Will Call”.
What does Will Call mean?
“Will Call” is a term used by box offices to indicate that tickets are being held at the Box Office. Tickets are available for pick-up anytime the Box Office is open.

Can I exchange my tickets for another performance?
Ticket exchanges are one of the exclusive subscriber benefits. All individual ticket sales are final. There are no ticket changes and no refunds.
Does Portland Stage ever cancel a performance due to weather?
Portland Stage rarely cancels a performance. Cancellation policy.
What do I do if I have lost/misplaced my tickets?
All tickets can be reprinted by either calling the Box Office on the day of the show or coming to the Box Office at least 20 minutes before curtain.
Can I get a tax credit for my unused tickets?
Return your tickets to the Box Office prior to the ticket performance date, and Portland Stage will issue you a tax credit for the face value of the unused tickets.
Is the show appropriate for my child? Do you do children’s theater?
The holiday production is typically our only family-friendly show, but most of our other Mainstage shows are attended by school groups of varying grades. Contact the Box Office at 207.774.0465 for more information on specific shows.

How long is the performance?
Show run times vary from production to production. Run times are available at the end of the rehearsal process, on the Monday of the first performance week. The runtime will appear at the end of the show description on each of the individual show pages (see our show pages for runtime info).
What time should I arrive for a performance?
We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes or more before the start of the performance.
Seating starts 30 minutes before the show starts.
Our lobby opens 45 minutes before the show starts.
What happens if I arrive late to a performance?
To ensure a quality theater experience for all of our patrons, late seating will be at the discretion of the House Manager. The House Manager will seat you at an appropriate interval in the rear of the theater. You may move to your assigned seats during intermission.
Do you sell food and drinks at Portland Stage?
Portland Stage sells a variety of refreshments at the mainstage lobby bar starting 45 minutes before the show and at intermission. The lobby bar offers a variety of beer, wine, coffee, tea, and soft drinks, as well as cakes, cookies, and candies.
Is there a dress code for Portland Stage?
Portland Stage does not have a dress code. Patron attire ranges from jeans and sweaters to business suits and dresses. Comfort is key to enjoying the show.
