LONGFELLOW: A LIFE IN WORDS by Daniel Noel | During the Victorian Era, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow walked the streets of Portland and put pen to paper to create some of the most influential works of poetry in the history of America. Longfellow touched a chord, not only with Americans, but also with an international audience through his heroic poetry, pride of place, and multicultural themes. LONGFELLOW: A LIFE IN WORDS weaves together his memoirs, corespondence, and poety to create an epic portrait of Longfellow himself.
