IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE | Open Caption

adapted by Joe Landry

Celebrate the Holiday Season with this beloved American classic. This heartwarming story of renewal is presented as a 1940’s radio broadcast with sound effects performed live on stage.  With the help of an ensemble and an angel named Clarence, George Bailey learns the million different ways that we are tied to those around us.

WHAT IS OPEN CAPTIONING?
Open captioning is a text display of words and sounds heard during an event. The display is positioned in such a way that it is open for anyone to see in a particular seating area. It is considered passive assistance, a service that is there to use or ignore. No one is labeled as needing the captioning with special equipment required at his/her seat.

Portland Stage is thrilled to provide seven open captioned performances during the 2019-20 Mainstage Season:

The Clean House: Friday, October 4, 2019 at 7:30PM
