Portland Stage hosts three discussions – Artistic Perspective, Curtain Call, and Page to Stage – that are associated with each of the six (6) productions in our Mainstage Season. If you are interested in attending, you are welcome to come to the discussion even if you have not attended the performance. Discussions are free and open to the general public. During the 2020-21 season, we have been hosting our discussion in an interactive live, online format. We are archiving them below.
Virtual Curtain Call Discussion with the cast of Or, by Liz Duffy Adams, moderated by our Literary Manager Todd Brian Backus.
Curtain call discussions offer a rare opportunity for audience members to talk about the production with the performers, exploring topics that range from the rehearsal process to character development to issues raised by the work.
Virtual Artistic Perspective Discussion with Anita Stewart and the Artistic Director of the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Neil Pankhurst, to discuss this collaboration and the themes raised in the play.
Artistic Perspective Discussions are hosted by Artistic Director Anita Stewart, is an opportunity for audience members to delve deeper into the themes and creative questions behind each production through conversation with special guests. A different scholar, visiting artist, playwright, or another expert will join the discussion each time.
