Mainstage Theater
The Portland Stage Mainstage is a 287 seat theater with an unobstructed view from everywhere within the auditorium.
The mainstage theater can be accessed from the street level via the front main staircase or by taking the elevator located to the right of the Box Office. Accessible seating is only located in the front row of the theater.
Studio Theater
The Studio Theater is a 60-75 seat, 3/4 thrust, black box theater. This is a general admission venue with seating locations on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Late seating is not permitted as you must cross the performance space to access your seating.
Please Note - Not all productions in the Studio Theater are Portland Stage events, other companies rent it for their own performances Please contact the Box Office for details.
The Susie Konkel Theater For Kids Store Front Space
Theater for Kids is a versatile storefront space is a 40-75 seat, black box performance space that is generally used for our In-Theater Education Programming. This is a general admission venue with seating locations on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.

Portland Stage, located at 25A Forest Avenue, Portland, ME, hosts our 286-seat Mainstage Theater, our 75-seat Studio Theater and a 40 seat Theater for Kids (Storefront). Mainstage and Studio Theater are located on the 2nd floor of the Portland Stage building, Theater for Kids (Storefront) is located on the ground level.
