Our Venues consist of our Mainstage and Studio Theater, both located on the 2nd floor, as well as our Theater for Kids space located on the street level. All are located in the Portland Stage building at 25A Forest Ave, Portland, ME.

The Mainstage is a 286 seat proscenium theater, with tiered seating and a lobby with a concessions area. The Mainstage Lobby opens 45 minutes prior to the start of the show and at intermission. Come in early and enjoy an assortment of Maine-made cookies, cakes, and candies, as well as a selection of beverages including beer and wine. To ensure a quality theater experience for all of our patrons, late seating will be at the discretion of the House Manager.
The Studio Theater is a 60-75 seat, 3/4 thrust, black box theater. This is a general admission venue with seating locations on a first come, first serve basis. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance. Late seating is not permitted as you must cross the performance space to access your seating.

Theater for Kids
Theater for Kids is a versatile storefront space that is generally used for our In-Theater Education Programming.

Per state law, smoking is not permitted inside the Portland Stage building or twenty feet from the front doorway.
No Food or Beverages in the theater
For the comfort of all our patrons, there is no food or beverage allowed in the theater, but they may be enjoyed in our lobby, before the show or during intermission.
Cellphones & Other Devices
We ask that all electronic devices – laptops, cell phones, alarms, and personal game devices be turned off prior to the start of the performance.
Recordings & Photographs
Video taping, audio recording, or photographing of any aspect of our performances is strictly prohibited per agreements with the royalty companies as well as the unions of the actors, designers, and directors.
