Patron Information
Portland Stage - is located at 25A Forest Avenue and consists of a Mainstage theater and a studio theater.
Both performance spaces are located on the 2nd floor of the Portland Stage building.
The Mainstage - a 288 seat procenium theater,
with tiered seating and a lobby with a concessions area.
The Lobby and Concessions for the Mainstage -
Open 45 minutes prior to the start of the show and at intermission. Come in early and enjoy an assortment of Maine-made cookies, cakes and candies, as well as a selection of beverages including beer and wine.
Late Arrivals for the Mainstage- To ensure a quality theater experience for all of our patrons late seating will be at the discretion of the house manager.
The Studio Theater- a 60-75 seat, 3/4 thrust black box theater. This is a general admission venue with seating locations on a first come, first serve basis. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.
Late Arrivals for the Studio Theater - Late seating is not permitted as you must cross the performance space to access your seating.
Please note - Not all productions in the Studio Theater are Portland Stage events. Please contact the Box Office for details.
For all of our patrons:
Elevator
Located behind the ground level staircase beside the Box Office. The elevator goes to the 2nd floor only, and does not access the rear section of the Main Stage Theater.
Restrooms
Located on the second floor across from the stairs.
Coatroom
Located on the second floor, to the left of the entrance to the main lobby. Portland Stage is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Smoking
Per state law, smoking is not permitted inside the Portland Stage building. Ashtrays are located outside the front doors.
Food/Beverages in the theater
For the comfort of all our patrons, there is no food or beverage allowed in the theater.
Cellphones & Other Devices
We ask that all electronic devices – laptops, cell phones, alarms on watches and personal game devices be turned off prior to the start of the performance.
Recordings & Photographs
Video taping, audio recording, or photographing of any aspect of our performances is strictly prohibited per agreements with the royalty companies as well as the unions of the actors, designers, and directors.
