Join the Understudies!

Experience Portland Stage from behind the scenes. The Understudies is a membership program open to all who contribute $500 or more to the Annual Fund each July - June season. Join us for First Read-Throughs, Open Technical Rehearsals, Meet the Artist events and much more. It is our hope, that by offering these behind-the-scenes events, our most enthusiastic supporters will gain insight to the process of creating a production, raising their passion for theater to a whole new level!

Understudies Events -- Open Technical Rehearsals

Get a sneak peek behind the scenes as each show prepares to take the mainstage. Open Technical Rehearsals will take place on select Saturdays and include a casual reception and backstage tour.

Location: All Open Technical Rehearsal events will start in the Mainstage lobby
Time: 4:00 PM

Understudies Events -- First Read-Throughs

Meet the director, designers and cast of each production for the First Read-through of the script. Observe the first step in the rehearsal process.

Location: All First Read-throughs will be in the rehearsal hall located behind the Studio Theater.
Time: An email notification will go out to all Understudies one to two weeks prior to each First Read Event announcing the time. The times will vary due to the director's schedule and arrival of the cast.
