Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is housing provided?
A: Yes. Interns are housed in furnished, 3-bedroom apartments 4 blocks from the theater and across the street from Deering Oaks Park, a large municipal green space. Each intern has his/her own bedroom and shares kitchen, bathroom, and living space.

Q: What is the weekly stipend and can I live on it?
A: The vast majority of interns find it possible to live on the $85/week stipend.

Q: How many interns do you hire?
A: We hire nine or ten (9-10) interns per season.

Q: How large is your pool of applicants?
A: Typically between 80 and 90 per season.

Q: Can I have a part-time job during my internship?
A: The program should be regarded as a full-time commitment of at least 40 hours per week. Additional employment to supplement income (an outside job) is not usually possible or practical and is strongly discouraged.

Q: When are final hiring decisions made?
A: The decisions are made in late April or May.
