The curtain is going up...
on a summer filled with the excitement and magic of theater camp!

At Portland Stage Summer Theater Camp students use the creative process
to express themselves through acting, directing, production projects and collaboration with other campers.
Our  theater camps involve fun, challenging and enriching activities,
through which students learn to use their bodies, voices,
minds and imaginations.

Each session promotes social skills such as
active listening, teamwork and turn-taking
in an environment that facilitates creative expression.
Using classic literature, modern favorites, adventure stories,
and fairytales as springboards, children will take
imaginative journeys to faraway lands!

Our professional actors and educators lead students in theme-based explorations
that develop children’s ability to work as an ensemble, build acting skills, explore drama through acting and directing while also encouraging spontaneity and creativity.

Camps are structured to provide students
with a variety of workshops on becoming an actor, insight into the craft of acting,
developing a stage presence, working from a text, practicing improvisation,
stage combat
and much more.

Each week will cover different elements and materials.
Every session culiminates in an open studio for families to see what we've accomplished.

Children are responsible for bringing their own lunches and snacks.

Sign up for multiple sessions by May 1st and get a 15% discount.
Sibling discount of 25% off the 2nd registration also available.

Camp registration is open for all sessions.
